こういうゲイシャも、本当に最高。

ジャスミンフレーバーがバッキバキに出る様なプエルトリコ系のゲイシャではないけれど、じんわりフラワリーなフレーバーと、とにかく甘みがたっぷりと粘性を伴ってずっと口の中で広がり続けるコーヒー。丁寧に作られているからこその十分な甘さと綺麗なカップが素晴らしい口あたりを生み出している。とっても繊細なところがゲイシャらしくて愛おしい。

ラ・ソレダ農園のコーヒーは、インポーターであるシュハリさんがいつも特別なロットを買い付けて下さり、リロでの取り扱いも早くも3年目。今年度、初めてカップした時の、まず初めに思い浮かんだ言葉は「おかえりなさい」

やっぱりこの味。嬉しくなる味。毎年、同じフレーバーを作りだすことは至難の業だということは、コーヒー従事者であればあるほど理解出来るはず。それも今年度は、甘さと口あたりの強度が増しているんだからもうアッパレとしか言いようがない。

焙煎初期はいろんなパターンを試すんだけれど、やっぱりここの豆の最大のパフォーマンスを発揮させるには、素直に浅く焙煎し、十分なディベロップを施してあげること。

LiLo Coffee Roastersのラインナップの中でも浅めの焙煎になるので、抽出時間を少し長めに取ってあげるとさらに甘さが増すはず。

焙煎してから1週間くらいの、イキイキとした酸が特徴的な状態ももちろん良いけれど、甘さと口あたりが本領を発揮するのは、焙煎から2週間ほど経過してから。ぜひその経時変化も楽しんでみて欲しいです。

ゲイシャって、名前だけが先行して品質がどうかと言われる豆が増えてきている中で、間違いなく素晴らしいゲイシャだと胸を張って言えるコーヒーです。特別な日でもそうでない日でも楽しんでください。

This Geisha variety from La Soledad farm in Guatemala is truly exceptional. While it may not have the distinct jasmine flavor of Puerto Rican Geishas, it offers a subtly floral flavor with abundant sweetness and viscosity that lingers in the mouth. The careful processing results in a delightful cup with ample sweetness and a clean taste, showcasing the delicate nature typical of Geisha beans.

Shu ha ri, our importer, consistently secures special lots from La Soledad, and LiLo Coffee Roasters has been handling them for three years now. The first thought upon cupping this year's batch was "welcome back" – a testament to its delightfully familiar taste. Achieving the same flavor profile year after year is challenging, a fact well understood by coffee professionals, especially with this year's increased sweetness and body.

For roasting, we've found that a light roast with sufficient development best showcases these beans' potential. At LiLo Coffee Roasters, we opt for a lighter roast, which means extending the brewing time can enhance its sweetness.

While the coffee is vibrant with acidity one week post-roast, its sweetness and body peak after two weeks, offering an ideal time to enjoy its evolving flavors.
