Traditional Patterns for Savoring Japan’s Four Seasons

For LiLo’s Seasonal Blend 2026,

we draw inspiration from beautiful Japanese traditional patterns

to offer special moments where you can savor the “now” through coffee.

February【Musubi-Ume 結び梅】

In February, Japan is still wrapped in cold air,
yet in fleeting moments,
we begin to sense the quiet signs of spring.

It is a season filled with thoughts of new beginnings—
entrance exams, preparations for departures,
and the connections yet to come.

“Musubi Ume” is a motif that weaves together
the plum blossom—
which blooms bravely at the height of winter—
with the form of a knot symbolizing connection.

Like the plum that endures the cold to welcome spring,
this pattern carries a wish:
that bonds may be formed,
and that those connections will last for a long time.
It is a gentle design that softly warms
the ties between family, friends,
and someone dear.

The Musubi Ume Blend opens with
bright flavors of raspberry and strawberry
that fill the palate,
followed by a lingering sweetness—
soft and refined, reminiscent of Wasanbon,
a traditional fine Japanese sugar.

Under February’s still-chilly sky,
take a moment to reflect on the connections yet to be formed,
and enjoy this cup with quiet anticipation.

SEASONAL BLEND 2026
Traditional Patterns for Savoring Japan’s Four Seasons

Flowers and greenery, the murmur of rivers, and soft moonlight.

For generations, people in Japan have lived closely with nature,

gently scooping up seasonal motifs and weaving them

into daily life as patterns on kimono,

obi sashes, furnishings, and small accessories.

“May our loved ones stay well.”

“May good relationships continue to grow.”

“May we celebrate new beginnings.”

Each traditional pattern carries not only the emotions of the four seasons,

but also the quiet wishes and prayers of the Japanese people.

As SEASONAL BLEND enters its 6th year in 2026,

we will be delivering a special coffee each month that reflects

the “now” of Japan, all inspired by beautiful traditional patterns.
