アンドレス氏は1999年に祖父母から農園を引き継ぎ、コーヒー栽培を始めました。最初に植えたティピカはさび病の被害を受け、その後カスティージョ種を5,000本植えましたが、品質の維持に苦労し、他の作物への転換を考えるようになりました。
そんな中、輸出業者のBANEXPORT社と出会い、拡大を続けるスペシャルティコーヒー市場の可能性に希望を見出します。現在は、発酵や乾燥工程の改善に力を入れながら、信頼する地元の人々と共に「ラ・パルセリータ農園」の管理を続けています。
Mr. Andrés took over his grandparents’ farm in 1999 and began cultivating coffee. He initially planted Typica, but the trees were severely damaged by leaf rust in the same year. He then planted 5,000 Castillo trees, but faced challenges in maintaining quality, which made him consider switching to other crops.
During this time, he encountered BANEXPORT, a coffee exporter, and was inspired by the growing potential of the specialty coffee market. He began focusing on improving fermentation and drying processes and now manages La Parcelita Farm with a trusted team of local workers he has worked with many times.
